During the recent annual Summer Fancy Food Show at the Javits Center, I wandered into a flavorful little corner of K-Food heaven — specifically the booth for Korean food giant Ottogi (now known and Otoki here in the US). Among their many delicious offerings, one particular product stood out: Jin Ramen, a line of instant noodles that’s already beloved in Korea and quickly winning over taste buds worldwide. But what makes Jin Ramen even more irresistible—besides the rich, savory broth and satisfying chewy noodles — is its royal ambassador: Jin of K Pop Boy Band, BTS.

Spotted at this year’s Summer Fancy Food Show, Whirly Pop Sweet Strawberry Soda is a sugary, fizzy delight that takes the iconic rainbow swirl lollipop brand and transforms it into a drinkable treat. This bubblegum-pink soda is bursting with bright strawberry flavor and serious nostalgic vibes. Packaged in an old-fashioned glass bottle with the signature Whirly Pop branding, it’s as fun to look at as it is to sip. Sweet, silly, and unapologetically pink — this one’s a sugar rush in liquid form. My teeth hurt just looking at the bottle.

Attendees of the annual Summer Fancy Food Show will offer no argument that the main focus of the event is right there in the name. Fancy Food – which completely dominates New York City’s Javits Center for three days in late June – is all about Specialty Foods of all varieties and the people who love and obsess over them.
At Fancy Food, your mouth will definitely be doing the heavy lifting, but while you’re feeding your face, trawling the trade show floor in a food-coma, on a continuous quest for your next nosh, important visual cues will alert you to a must-visit pitstop for stuffing yourself with yet another gut-busting bite. Yes, I’m calling out the awesome marketing and design skills that make the big difference in memorable branding. Without it, your delicious and unique food product could go unnoticed, and that would be a shame.
