I had to do a reverse image search on this cute little guy to find out that his name is Jinx and he is a type of monster from Jellycat, who make amazing plush soft toys. I found Jinx serving as the booth mascot for Happy Just Happy greeting cards at the NY Now winter market. Oh, the cuteness. Continue reading Pink Thing Of The Day: Pink Jinx Monster By Jellycat

Summer Fancy Food Show Returns for 2022: The Photo Recap!
The Men of Konopelski’s Meats and Their Very Cool Hats! (All Photos By Gail)
Over the past few years, I’ve enjoyed covering the slow return of various favorite trade shows, such as the Affordable Art Fair and NY Now while holding-out for what I like to call ‘The Big One.’ Finally, after an absence of two excruciating years, the Summer Fancy Food Show (sponsored by the Specialty Food Association) made what can only be called a triumphant comeback in June of this year. It has taken me this long to distill the experience because, wow, the show was just overwhelming on so many levels.

Pink Thing Of The Day: Giant Pink Pig at Rudys Bar & Grill
Rudy’s is a famous Dive Bar in Hell’s Kitchen NYC that has a storied history going all the way back to 1933! Rudy’s 6-foot high Pink Pig mascot, known affectionately as The Baron, has stood vigil at the door for about twenty years, and was only stolen twice before they bolted his big butt down!
He says Hello, and Welcome!
Pink Thing of The Day: Bubba Gump Shrimp Mascot
Navy Pier in Chicago is the place to be if you want to take a bunch of photos of a person who gets paid to hang out in a Bubba Gump Shrimp Mascot costume. Appropriate for a Pink Thing of The Day, the costume is a cheerful shade of Shrimp Pink, so that counts!
It is this guy’s job to stand outside the restaurant and try not scare people away, I think. Continue reading Pink Thing of The Day: Bubba Gump Shrimp Mascot
Fast Food Mascots At A Funeral
This amazing painting featuring a group of seven of the most well-known Fast Food Mascots at a funeral was spotted by me at an arts and crafts street fair in Chicago. They are clearly serving as pallbearers and you can see that the coffin says “Monsanto,” the notorious chemical company. But, what does it all mean? The painting is clearly mounted in an up-cycled window frame, and the rows of towering palm trees in the background indicates that the location is southern California. I neglected to note the artist’s name, so if anyone has a clue as to who painted this, and what it is all about, please leave that information in the comments! Thank you, Drive Through!
