A true marvel of modern design and plastic production, the  Fresh Fat Easy Chair (2006) by British designer Tom Dixon turns the process of mass manufacturing on its head — by injecting a touch of the handmade into the synthetic. A fusion of comfort and artistic expression, the Mahalo chair flaunts soft, biomorphic curves that feel more like a hand-sculpted artwork than a utilitarian object.

At first glance, the geometric steel frame — a minimalist tubular structure — recalls a traditional lounge chair. However, it’s the woven polymer threads, arranged in intricate patterns, that bring the chair to life.
