If you’re a fan of costume and couture exhibits, and you thought that 2011’s Alexander McQueen exhibit, Savage Beauty (which dominated traffic at The Met for close to a year) was amazing, then your head will definitely explode when you see the Brooklyn Museum’s must-see extravaganza,The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk. We arrived at the Brooklyn Museum not really knowing what to expect, and were so blown away by this expansive and wildly impressive exhibit that you can count on the 100 or so photographs I snapped during yesterday’s visit being spread out over several blog posts. Reccommended Viewing: Escape From Tomorrow
Do you like Disneyland? I sure do. I’ve been going to Disney parks since I was practically an egg, and I never, ever get tired of it. I was there two summers ago with my older sister and we had so much fucking fun, our heads almost exploded. Disneyland Rules! It is largely due to my obsession with Disneyland (or DisneyWorld, whatever) that I’m very excited to tell you about an independent film I just saw called Escape From Tomorrow which was filmed Guerrilla-style almost entirely on location at Disneyland and Disneyworld! Holy shit! How did that even happen?
Must See Art: Tribute To The Haunted Mansion Group Art Show!
As a huge, geeky fan of Disney’s The Haunted Mansion ride and all folklore and legend surrounding it, I would literally die and come back from the dead to be able to see a group art show that opened this past Saturday in Los Angeles; A Tribute To The Haunted Mansion. Seriously, I can’t even live. This second annual group show, where artists interpret themes from the ride, features William Basso, Brian Boskind, The Creep, Curioddities, Dienzo, Asia De Vinyl, Frank Dietz, Darren Frydendall, Hideousboi, Noah K, Abigail Larson, Bob Lizarraga, Eric Pigors, Queenie, John Rozum, Bill Rude, Dan Szczepanski, Richard Terpstra and Zombienose among others. Judging from the video below, it looks totally amazing!
