I Know It’s Only The Rolling Stones, But I Like It (Sticky Fingers Original Logo by John Pasche)
With The Rolling Stones currently on tour celebrating their 50th year together as a band, Broome Street Gallery’s current Rolling Stones-themed exhibit distinguishes itself from the many other Stones exhibits we have seen for including not only photographs of the band and its iconic remembers (by various equally legendary photographers), but also its exciting display of pop art sculptures, tour posters, rare album cover art, caricatures and realist paintings, many of them by Stones’ rhythm guitarist Ron Wood. Contemporary Political/ Pop artist, Shepard Fairey has designed a Rad new Logo for The Rolling Stones, updating the iconic “Sticky Fingers” Mouth and Tongue that is universally known to indicate that there is Rolling Stones shenanigans afoot. The new design celebrates the Stones’ 50th Anniversary. We think Fairey did an excellent job! Read more about the new logo at Design Taxi.

A couple of weeks back, a FaceBook friend posted the innocent-but-completely-clueless observation, “What happened to summer?” into her newsfeed. And I was like, “(Friend’s Name) summer has been over for awhile now.” Because, fall. Fall! It’s not hot out anymore, but it’s also not really cold yet: it’s just time to unpack all the comfy sweaters and light outerwear from wherever you store it (me = the closet). Wearing shorts and flip flops is heretofore declared inappropriate!
