The Pigeon Lamp by François-Xavier Lalanne, one half of the celebrated design duo Les Lalanne, is a whimsical and iconic piece that showcases the artist’s playful and surreal approach to functional art. François-Xavier, along with his wife Claude Lalanne, became famous for merging sculpture with everyday objects, transforming them into delightful and fantastical creations.

What I’m most excited about though is the return of my favorite design event, Salon Art + Design: the immersive design experience that shows all the other art fairs how it’s done. As the leading collectible design and art fair (produced by Sanford L. Smith + Associates), Salon Art + Design, taking place annually at NYC’s Park Avenue Armory, has just announced its 13th edition,. This year’s fair will run from November 7th to 11th, 2024, so get ready for some great fun and inspiration.

Agathe Labaye is an architect and Florian Sumi a visual artist. After a career in their respective fields, the two began their collaboration in the spring 2018, with their first collection of furniture, entitled Le Salon. Coincidentally, it was at the 2023 Salon Art + Design that we spotted the duo’s magnificent glowing pink floor lamp, Colonne Noailles.
