iMac Ceiling Lamps

Imac Ceiling Lamps

Ah, I get a little nostalgic for my long dead first iMac when I see how these (now ancient) iMac G3 carcasses have been gutted and re-purposed as pendant lighting for a travel agency called G Adventures. Clever!

Bacon Thing of the Day: No Bacon?

No Hope No Cash No Jobs No Bacon

Shudder.

RIP Steve Jobs

Oh man, what a blow. Steve Jobs has passed away today, October 5, 2011, due to an as yet unspecified causes (read: Cancer), though he was known to be in poor health (Jobs struggled with pancreatic cancer for over a decade and underwent a liver transplant in 2009). He was 56 years old — way too young to go. Steve can at least rest in peace knowing he created the best personal computer in the universe.  The Worley Gig was created on an iMac and the Mac is the only brand of computer I will ever own. Apple Mac Forever! You can read the LA Times Obit on Steve Jobs at This Link.

Apple Store Playset by Playmobil

Do you enjoy shopping at the Apple Store? I sure do. There’s a big, shiny Apple Store just across town from me, on the corner of 9th Avenue and 14th Street (the bus goes right there). If you are in the area, sometimes it is fun to just “pop in” and browse the cool Apple products while listening to endless loops of The Beatles’ music. I just heard about a cool new toy that I would certainly buy if I had children; the Apple Store playset by Playmobil. Here are some of this cutting-edge playset’s fantastic features:

  • Amazing PLAYMOBIL™ set introduces children to the magic of Apple technology
  • Interactive play teaches important social interaction skills
  • Includes everything pictured: entire store with figures and over 60 accessories
  • Store comes fully staffed with PLAYMOBILApple Store associates
  • Ground floor of Apple store features product demo tables, software shelves and kids corner
  • Top floor includes Genius Bar and Keynote Theater with mini Steve Jobs figure
  • Use your own real iPhone 4 as the screen behind Steve Jobs in the Keynote Theater (downloadable simulated keynote presentation available on the PLAYMOBIL™ website)
  • Purchase the optional Line Pack and stage your own Apple Device launch party!
  • Entire store measures 72 cm long x 36 cm deep x 40 cm high
  • Officially licensed Apple product

I so want to own this.

Awesome Video: Microsoft Redesigns the iPod Package

No one hates Microsoft more than me. I’ll be an Apple fan until they pry my iMac mouse from my cold dead fingers, so I never miss an opportunity to rip Bill Gates a new one. Enjoy!
