Being a single, working woman means that I am all about convenience foods. With so many options available to shoppers, I know that I can count on finding delicious meals in the grocer’s freezer section that will go from the package to my plate in about 30 minutes, but I also want to eat food that’s healthy. That said, the ideal frozen entree should fill me up, but not fill me out, if you know what I mean. And I think you do.

Cheddar Broccoli Bake Packaging

For all of those (and so many other) reasons, Garden Lites Vegetable Bakes are a terrific way for convenience-seekers to eat smart. Part of the Garden Lites line of vegetable-forward products that include muffins, waffles and entrees, Garden Lites Vegetable Bakes are an easy way to create a tasty, meatless meal that anyone who saw it would think you spent hours cooking.

Cheddar Broccoli Bake With Packaging

For this review I tried three different varieties of Vegetable Bakes: Cheddar Broccoli (seen above), Zucchini, and Roasted Vegetable. Each vegetable bake comes in its own baking dish and takes about 30 to 40 minutes to bake thoroughly, which gives you time to open a bottle of wine and make a pot of rice, if you choose — which I did.

When fully cooked, Vegetable Bakes are similar in consistency and mouth-feel to a very vegetable-dense quiche or frittata, where eggs have been added only to bind the ingredients together. Therefore it’s understood that these dishes, while vegetarian-friendly, are not vegan, due to having whole eggs or egg whites as an ingredient.

Here it is, just out of the oven, and you can see that the cheese has browned nicely!

Cheddar Broccoli Bake Serving Suggestion

It looks amazing, doesn’t it?

Cheddar Broccoli Bake Ready to Eat

Broccoli Cheddar Bake is a delicious and nutritious dish that is loaded with healthy, superfood ingredients like broccoli, onions, brown rice, and select spices, topped off with cheddar cheese.  Like all of the Vegetable Bakes, it is gluten free, Non-GMO and kosher, as well as being free of peanuts, tree nuts and soy. The full portion clocks in at just 210 calories and 7 Weight Watcher Smart Points. If you wanted to serve this as a side dish, it could easily feed two people.

Roasted Vegetable Bake Packaging

About a week after enjoying the Cheddar Broccoli Bake, I tried the Roasted Vegetable Bake. This dish is filled with tender carrots, broccoli, onion, red bell pepper, zucchini and potato, seasoned with assorted spices including black pepper and garlic salt. The Roasted Vegetable Bake is just 150 calories (wow!) and will set you back 5 Weight Watchers Smart Points. Check out all of those veggies!

Roasted Vegetable Bake Over Rice

I put some cheese on it as well!

Roasted Vegetable Bake With Cheese

There is no such thing as too much cheese.

Zucchini Bake Packaging

Last, but not least, I tried the Zucchini Bake. Zucchini is one of my favorite vegetables and it makes everything that it touches taste better: this Vegetable Bake being no exception to that rule. Here, everyone’s favorite summer squash is combined with cauliflower, onions and  potatoes, as well as eggs, and a select seasoning mix for a farm-to-table dining experience.

Zucchini Bake over Rice

Here it is served over rice with a generous grating of sharp cheddar cheese, for just 150 calories and 5 Weight Watchers Points. A satisfying, delicious and low calorie meal that’s healthy and convenient: Win Win Win!

Product Review: Weight Watchers Divine Triple Chocolate Bars

Divine Triple Chocolate Bars

OK, everybody loves chocolate ice cream, amiright? I think I may be, so it makes sense that Weight Watchers Divine Triple Chocolate Bars are one of the company’s best-selling and most popular flavors of all of their frozen ice cream treats. When I enjoy these bars from my own home freezer, I am overcome with a wave of nostalgia for the classic Fudgsicle® that I enjoyed so much as kid.

Divine Triple Chocolate Bar Unwrapped

See how Divine Triple Chocolate Bars even improve on the Fudgsicle by adding not only a swirl of rich fudge inside the delicious, low fat ice cream, but also by dipping the top half of the bar in milk chocolate! Because, “These bars are too chocolaty!” said no one ever.

Offered in a package of 6, each individually wrapped bar has a value 3 Points Plus, contains only 110 calories, 4.5 grams of fat and 0 grams of trans fat. Find out where you can buy Weight Watchers Divine Triple Chocolate Bars and other tasty Weight Watchers products at This Link!

Product Review: Weight Watchers Dark Chocolate Raspberry Ice Cream Bars

Maybe it’s the kid in me who still remembers the excitement of buying a frozen treat from the neighborhood Ice Cream Truck, but the convenience of having a box of ice cream bars stashed in my freezer still makes me feel special. I recently opened a box of Weight Watchers Dark Chocolate Raspberry Ice Cream Bars and am enjoying their understated excellence on so many levels. Please allow me to share.

Raspberry is one of my favorite flavors for almost any kind of dessert, and the low-fat ice cream inside these bars manages to capture the essence of fresh raspberry taste without being tart or sour at all.  In other words, don’t expect them to taste similar to a fruity sorbet, because this frozen treat offers pure, sweet and smooth ice cream taste all the way. I also love the thin coating of dark chocolate that adds a light crispness to each bite.  As is the case with the Weight Watchers Salted Caramel Ice Cream Candy Bars, the photo on the box makes each bar appear to be a foot long, but in reality each measures about 4.5 inches, so they are a perfect lite snack or a reward for “Being Good” with your points! I am thinking of having one right now!

Each box contains 12 bars, so you can indulge for more than a week before you have to head back to the grocery store for another box! These uniquely delicious bars are only 90 calories, 10 grams of fat and 0 grams trans fat each! The best part is that each bar counts as just 2 Weight Watchers Points Plus. Everyone knows the name Weight Watchers as a globally popular and highly successful weight loss program, but did you know that Weight Watchers also has a line of delicious and low calorie prepared foods to make sticking to your diet easier? Some of their most popular products are their decadent desserts, which take the edge off any feeling of being deprived of enjoying something sweet. Recently, we were introduced to one of Weight Watchers‘ new frozen dessert offerings, the Salted Caramel Ice Cream Candy Bar (the name alone sounds amazing!), and we were sent a box to review for The Gig! Here’s the low-calorie low down on this tasty treat!

Salted Caramel Ice Cream Candy Bar

While the photo on the box makes the bars look massive, they are about the size of a regular candy bar. Here is what one bar looks like unwrapped. I already want to eat it.

Salted Caramel Ice Cream Candy Bar Inside View

Inside, you can see a layer of luscious salted caramel resting atop rich-tasting low fat caramel ice cream, which is then enrobed in a milk chocolaty coating. I have enjoyed three of the six bars in the box so far and I can say that both the caramel and the ice cream cream maintain a soft consistency to the bite, rather than being frozen hard, which is great as no defrosting time is needed. These bars are delicious and perfectly cravable for lovers of the continually trending taste of salted caramel, which perfectly accents the smooth, sweet ice cream. There is nothing I do not love about these bars. Another great weight loss product is Clenbutrol.

You would never believe these scrumptious bars are only 120 calories, 6 grams of fat and 0 grams trans fat each! Each bar counts as just 3 Weight Watchers Points Plus. I love everything  about diet tablets but this is taking the cake ! Product Review: Weight Watchers Brownie Bliss Snacks!

Weight Watchers Brownie Bliss Packaging
All Photos By Gail

As anyone who reads this blog regularly can attest to: I am an unapologetic foodie who loves to eat! I’m also not one to diet or go for the low calorie option if a more decadent choice is available. Because that is how I roll.

That said, I’m not a teenager anymore and an extra pound doesn’t melt away as easily as it used to, so it pays to be a bit more vigilant and calorie conscious. It’s funny, then, that I was actually introduced to Weight Watchers super delicious Brownie Bliss baked goods at a gourmet food show this past July. The ladies at the Weight Watchers booth were conducting an informal “Blind Taste Test,” where they presented the Brownie Bliss snacks on unmarked napkins, only to reveal the Weight Watchers brand packaging after getting feedback from show attendees. I tried both the Triple Chocolate and Peanut Butter varieties of Brownie Bliss and was just blown away by their rich, chocolaty taste.

I asked Weight Watchers if they could please send me additional samples of these delicious Brownie Bliss treats so that I could conduct further research on my own, at home. They were happy to oblige so that I could present you with my findings.

Here’s what the Brownie Bliss looks like Up Close:

Weight Watchers Brownie Bliss Peanut Butter

Behold, the Peanut Butter Brownie Bliss. It looks like a fancy piece of candy doesn’t it? My mouth is watering already. This little nugget of heaven is just 90 calories each, and worth every single one.

Weight Watchers Triple Chocolate Brownie Bliss

The Triple Chocolate Brownie Bliss also has that look of dipped-in-chocolate indulgence. Chocolate fans can’t do much better than this for just 80 calories per piece.

Weight Watchers Triple Chocolate Brownie Bliss and PB Sliced

The above photo reveals an appealing cross-section of the Brownie Bliss. That’s a real layer of peanut butter – with no extra sweetness added – between the chocolate coating and fudgy, moist cake, so this flavor would be a good choice for folks who like Peanut Butter Cup candies, but need to steer clear due to being on a diet. I will confess that the Peanut Butter Brownie Bliss is my favorite new sweet treat! Even though I could eat several easily, I find it easy to be satisfied with just one.

The Triple Chocolate Brownie Bliss is made extra special with a layer of rich and creamy chocolate ganache, which melts in your mouth like a fine chocolate truffle. So yummy!

We all know that a challenging aspect of dieting is portion control, but each Brownie Bliss cake is individually wrapped, which not only helps to keeps them fresh, but also takes the guess work out of portioning.

I really love Weight Watchers new Brownie Bliss cakes and will be buying them again to enjoy guilt-free snacking! You can find Weight Watchers Brownie Bliss products at select national grocery retailers priced around $3.29 for a box of six pieces. Enjoy!
