The design for this gorgeous and super cool pink bed is inspired by the body of a 1960 Chevy Impala, and I just love it. The bed has storage space in engine compartment when you open the hood and it even has working headlights. Manufactured by Jake’s Custom Car Furniture, it looks pretty awesome, but the price is a little expensive at $4,000.
More photos and info on this bed, plus even more unique furniture made from car parts, can be seen at This Link.
In honor of singer/guitarist Aldo Nova’s birthday today (11/13), the Worley Gig is excited to bring you the video for his band’s awesome hit song “Fantasy” – a hot mess of ’80s metal cheesiness. Everything gets going at about the 1:20 point, so feel free to fast forward until you can see Aldo break down the door of a locked warehouse with laser beams shooting from the neck of his guitar. Innovative! I especially love Aldo’s form-fitting, leopard print bodysuit, which I would surely be wearing right this minute if I had his figure. Seriously, can you believe rock stars ever dressed like that? I sure do miss it. I also love the part where the girls in the audience mob the stage, because they cannot resist Aldo’s hotness. So, happy birthday Aldo, and thanks for offering us your words to ponder, “life is just a fantasy, can you live this fantasy life?”
For all fans of art and also those fascinated with architecture and design, the annual Canstruction exhibit is a must see. Canstruction, Inc. is a nonprofit organization – and the most unique food charity in the world – that holds annual design and build competitions among those in the architecture and design field where the challenge is to construct fantastic, giant sized, structures made entirely out of canned food. After the structures are built, with the winners in each city chosen, the “canstructions” go on view to the general public as a unique and cohesive art exhibit. This year, 25 amazing sculptures are on view in the Brookfield Place mall located in the World Financial Center in downtown Manhattan.
It seems so funny to think that these days, Pee-wee Herman, a character made famous by the gifted actor Paul Ruebens, is a household name. Most people know Pee-wee from the wonderfully infamous Saturday morning ‘children’s’ program, Pee-wee’s Playhouse, but Pee-wee’s roots are a bit more ‘indie-based.’ Pee-wee’s vehicle for his eventual launch to international superstardom was The Pee-wee Herman Show, a 1981 stage play that became a wildly successful HBO special and thus spawned the entire Pee-wee Herman franchise, including films such as Pee-wee’s Big Adventure and, not long after, Pee-wee’s Playhouse.
