Geoffrey and I spent a few hours this afternoon uptown at the Whitney Museum of Contemporary Art blowing our minds at their current exhibit, Summer of Love, which is so amazing it will make your head explode. We were able to get in free with my ID card from work, but it’s totally worth the $15 admission. One of my favorite parts of the exhibit was the Roomful of Mirrors, while Geoffrey couldn’t stop talking about this one installation Phantasy Landscape Visiona II, by Verner Panton, which he repeatedly referred to as “The Vagina Room.”

Worst TV Show Ever: Hey Paula
Backstory: It’s not always easy to lure me out of the Chickpad on a weeknight, but just last evening I hopped the M21 bus to Houston and Elizabeth Street to hang out at a listening party for the new album by some band called Motion City Soundtrack — a group of unwashed-looking guys pushing thirty who sing songs about what it’s like to be 15 years old and have “problems.” Aside from the fact that the party was held in a place where you have to make an appointment to custom design your own over-priced Nike sneakers, attendees were promised an “open bar” and snacks, so it really could have been any crappy band and I would have been there, because free food is free food. The Two Gs Go To Pearl River Mart!
This past weekend, Geoffrey (aka Other G or “OG“) and I went downtown to Pearl River Mart to shop like maniacs. OG has been listening to me rave about Pearl River Mart since he was an egg, and this was his first visit to the wonderful Palace of Asian Delights where I would shop every day if I could.
