Stained Glass Mural By @Tapeartist on Avenue C Bus Shelter

When I arrived for the start of my morning commute at the bus stop near the corner of Avenue C and 14th Street, adjacent to Stuyvesant Town, I encountered a lovely surprise in the form of this psychedelic tape mural stretching across the back glass of the bus shelter. The geometric design by E.S. Klein, also known as Tape Artist, (@tapeartist)Â must have gone up prior to this past holiday weekend. I love it!
The multi-color design is meticulously applied and really brightens up the bus shelter. My guess is that Klein put this up over the course of couple of late night sessions.
I hope that the City and the MTAÂ lets it stay up.

Os Gemeos Break Dancers Double Mural on West 14th Street

Over the course of three weeks in September (though the exact beginning and completion dates are unknown to me), I watched Brazilian street artists (and twin brothers), Os Gemeos, paint the above murals, which cover the exposed facades of two buildings that border a vacant lot, located on the north side of West 14th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. The murals portray two rival break dancing crews from the ’80s. I imagine that this fun piece, which is a great example of Os Gemeos very distinctive style, will stay up until someone decides to put up a building. Which could happen at any time. Ron English’s Ronnnie Rabbbit on West 14th Street

On the north side of  the intersection where 14th Street crosses both 9th Avenue and Hudson Street (just across the street from the Apple Store), there’s a triangle-shaped plaza that currently appears to be under construction. For what, who can say. But the concrete barriers that border the space support a chain-link fence which is wrapped on all sides in vibrant, multi colored images of Ronnnie Rabbbit; the three eyed, three-eared mutant rabbit character created by Popaganda artist Ron English.
