Life is better with Art in it: it’s just a fact. Whether you are a seasoned collector, someone looking to start a collection by investing in a single piece for your home, or an art lover who just enjoys the inspiration and joy of browsing, the Affordable Art Fair is a great place to expose yourself to (and purchase) art of almost every tangible medium.

Held in a dual-floor space inside the Metropolitan Pavilion, AAFNYC gathers contemporary galleries from across the globe in the spring and fall each year for a three-day event that’s always both educational and lots of fun. This season’s fair boasted the most diverse collection of high-quality, original art that I’ve noticed for as long as I’ve been attending. Pink Thing of The Day: Pink Designer Hand Grenade!

Pink LV Hand Grenade

This Hot Pink Louis Vuitton-branded Hand Grenade is the work of artist Emil Armendariz (AKA Mr. Debonair) who became renowned in the world of contemporary art by mixing luxury brands with firearms and grenades to create unique works of art. Mr. Debonair’s particular mix of war and high fashion creates unique works art in his old-school, handcrafted artistic style. I mean, check out that high-gloss paint job!

Each design is numbered and very limited, and every single grenade is hand painted and signed by the artist. This beauty was spotted at the Fall 2018 Affordable Art Fair in NYC and is priced to own at just $1,200  from the Evan Lurie Gallary of Carmel, Indiana!

Grown Up Flowers is the name of a fun Public Art installation that you can see at several locations along Avenue of the Americas (Sixth Ave) in Midtown Manhattan. This Pink Flower, which is called Rose, lays prone in front of 1221 Sixth Avenue, and just a bit further on you can see her Orange friend, peeking out just a bit in the background.
