I’m not sure who does the Dasani Air street art — which has been floating around the east village since 2013 — but this one (spotted on Bowery just below Houston) was new to me. I’ve seen it with Queen Elizabeth sucking on a canister of Dasani Air (clearly parody of Coca Cola brand’s Dasani Water) but Batman is pretty popular as well.

Sweet Toof at Broome and Bowery
It’s really been years since we spotted any work by the mysterious British Street Artist Sweet Toof in the neighborhood, but maybe that is just because we do not know where to look! Immediately recognizable for the distinctive, over-sized Gums on the character, this cheerful mural can be found at the northeast corner of Broome and Bowery in downtown Manhattan.
Update: Sweet Toof (@onlysweettoof) recently tweeted at me to inform me that this shutter mural is actually a collaboration between him and DarkClouds. So, thanks for that!
Green Lighted Tree Display, Patricia Field on Bowery
It’s always fun to pop into the Patricia Field boutique, even if it’s just to check out the many colorful displays and artwork in this bi-level space that includes a downstairs hair salon. I just had to capture an image of this “Tree” made up of strings of green lights draped over a tree-like frame. Innovative!
Patricia Field was Located at 306 Bowery, between Bleecker and Houston, NYC, but is has now Closed.
Peelander Yellow Mural, East 2nd Street NYC
This colorful and fun mural by Peelander-Yellow of Peelander-Z, the Japanese Action Comic Punk Band based in NYC is located on East 2nd Street, between 2nd Avenue and Bowery. It’s evidently been up since February, but the heinous weather has kept me from doing much exploring, so I just spotted it for the first time this past weekend, when the temps soared into the high 60s! Woo! This looks like some kind of Space Pig, to me. Space Pig!
