You have to be observant, but if you bother to look up from your phone, or pay special attention to your surroundings, you can spot relief sculptures of the face of French street artist Gregos adorning the facades of buildings and other random objects at intervals all along 14th Street (and other locations in the east village) in Manhattan.

Artist Sas Christian in Front of NYC’s Opera Gallery
A very wet and stormy night in NYC was transformed into a completely sublime evening by the gala opening of new works by husband and wife artist team Sas and Colin Christian, which is currently on display at the Opera Gallery in Soho. Sas and Colin – who are both painters and sculptors – find inspiration in old sci-fi movies, pinup girl/ supermodels, anime, ambient electronic music and H.P. Lovecraft. That Frozen Broccoli . . . It’s . . . People!
Clever and (likely) bored packaging designers over at Cascadian Farm organic foods decided to have a little fun when they Photoshopped their heads onto this picture adorning a package of delicious frozen broccoli. I’m all about the power of subliminal advertising and I’m thinking maybe this will prompt people to rent and watch DVDs of Soilent Green, a really good classic Sci-fi film from the early ’70s.
