Pink Thing Of The Day: Party Pig!

This small toy figure of a Pig in a Pink Party Hat and matching festive outfit (or simply, Party Pig, as I enjoy calling him) was gifted to me by a friend on my most recent birthday. Currently, he hangs out in my living room near the stereo. A little Googling reveals that he is part of a 5-piece set of animal mini figures  called Party Farm from  Bullseye’s Playground. The set was originally sold by Target in November of 2021 and is now (understandably) sold out, but you can still find it for sale on eBay and other similar sites.

Instagram Post of The Week: Fogo De Chao Launch Party!

Last week, I finally attended my first post-pandemic restaurant press event when I was invited, with a guest, to the launch party of Bar Fogo at Fogo De Chao in midtown.  It was a blast and the food was out of control. You can see the full post (just click on the Shrimp, above) for many photos of the evening including exotic new cocktails and tantalizing appetizers that are now on the menu for all to enjoy!

One thing that most of us have learned first-hand in the past two years is how many different tasks can be accomplished entirely online. While nothing feels the same as celebrating special occasions face-to-face, we’ve created innovative ways for ‘virtual events’ to bring people together in a safe space when circumstance dictates that we must limit in-person gatherings. The pandemic won’t stop people from having Birthdays, getting Married or having Babies, and a great way to let friends and family know that you have something to celebrate is by crafting custom invitations or announcements to send out. Not sure how to get started? Check out Basic Invite, an online stationary store where you can design the perfectly personalized card or invitation for almost every major life moment including weddings, showers, birth announcements, birthdays, graduations, and more!

A party can look a lot of different ways, but we can probably all agree that a party gathers people together around a particular person, event, or idea – which then determines the party’s main theme. Parties are generally accompanied by lively conversations, good food, plentiful drinks (usually alcohol), music, and other types of entertainment that can add to an informal, friendly atmosphere where everyone feels at home. In fact, one of the main objectives of parties is to include people in a social environment, which  in turn eliminates the need to adhere to ‘labels’ or any sense of conformity.

Instagram Post Of The Week: Gail and Al Jourgensen

The year was 2003, and I was enjoying myself immensely at an after-show party at Lit Lounge in NYC’s East Village, partying hard with the members of Ministry and their entourage, having just seen the band kill it at the late, great Roseland Ballroom. That’s where this photo of me and Al was taken, probably by Paul Barker. I had become friendly with Paul and Al at the time, and you can see the love on Al’s face in this shot and he wraps his arm around my shoulder and smirks for the camera. I was fortunate to interview Paul and Al several times back in the day and they were always fantastic guys to speak with. Good times indeed.
