Instagram Post of The Week: Halloween Monster Cake!

A couple of weeks ago, I stopped to gaze into the window of Magnolia Bakery in midtown while en route to the NBC Studios to attend a taping of that week’s Saturday Night Live (Host: Rami Malek). What a delight it was to see this tiered Halloween-themed cake right up front. So scary cute! Whatever your plans (or lack thereof ), have a safe and enjoyable Halloween!

Worleygig.com Gets A Spring Makeover!

New Worleygig Banner

It’s time again to do our Spring Cleaning, so maybe you’ve noticed (or maybe not) that we underwent a recent facelift in the form of changing WordPress themes after using the same one since our last upgrade in 2013! Wow, it seems like just yesterday. The new theme is a continuation of our ongoing site improvements that we announced on our 17 year blogiversary last June. Aside from a font change, you’ll notice that those site features formerly residing on the right side of our home page have moved to over to the left, leaving us with an expanse of new real estate to develop — yay! Who knows what will come next? I can only promise that it will be excellent. Have a look around at our new design and let us know what you think in the comments!

Pink Thing of The Day: Pink Panther Soundtrack LP on Pink Vinyl!

Pink Panther ST on Pink Vinyl

The 50th Anniversary of The Pink Panther – Music from the Film Score Composed and Conducted by Henry Mancini will be commemorated with the release of a limited edition, individually numbered 12″ PINK VINYL LP created for Record Store Day, 2014, celebrated at independent record stores worldwide on Saturday, April 19th, 2014. Mancini’s indelible “Pink Panther Theme,” first heard in the archetypal ’60s crime caper comedy starring Peter Sellers and directed by Blake Edwards, is, in the current digital era, the #1 most-streamed song in the entire Sony Music catalog. The original Pink Panther soundtrack album was given a Grammy Hall of Fame Award in 2001 and is being expanded for a 2014 50th Anniversary Edition to include bonus material. The Advantage Help You Get Your Geek On

Advantage Elf Titled

For the past few weeks I have been telling everyone I know about my new favorite band, The Advantage, a rock quartet from Sacramento that plays only covers of Nintendo Game Theme Songs. Oh my god, they are so way beyond genius. I’ve never played video games in my life, but these songs’ bizarre sonic amalgam of Yes, Frank Zappa and Oingo Boingo thrill me completely. I just can’t stop playing their new CD, Elf Titled, which comes out on January 24, 2006. The Advantage fucking rule, and you need to get your geek on and check them out.
