Instagram Post Of The Week: Gail and Al Jourgensen

The year was 2003, and I was enjoying myself immensely at an after-show party at Lit Lounge in NYC’s East Village, partying hard with the members of Ministry and their entourage, having just seen the band kill it at the late, great Roseland Ballroom. That’s where this photo of me and Al was taken, probably by Paul Barker. I had become friendly with Paul and Al at the time, and you can see the love on Al’s face in this shot and he wraps his arm around my shoulder and smirks for the camera. I was fortunate to interview Paul and Al several times back in the day and they were always fantastic guys to speak with. Good times indeed. Get Paid $2K to Watch Rom-Coms With Your Squad

Galentine’s Day, a holiday where ladies come together to celebrate other ladies (made popular by the TV show Parks and Recreation) traditionally takes place before Valentine’s Day. But since we are living in a Covid Time Warp, we can celebrate Galentine’s Day whenever we want, because rules no longer apply! That said, the team at US Dish (an authorized reseller of DISH Network Satellite TV) wants to offer one lucky person the dream job, where you can earn $2,000 for one evening’s work — all one the guise of a Galentine’s Day bash! You might remember that last year, US Dish paid someone $1,000 to watch 15 hours of The Office. This job is even sweeter:  US Dish will pay someone $2,000 to watch movies with their friends, virtually! To give people more time to submit their applications, US Dish has extended the deadline for applying to February 26th, 2021.

Here are the main ‘Job Requirements‘:

What: US Dish is looking to pay someone $2,000 to host a virtual rom-com watch party for their best pals!

Why:  They believe that spending time with the people we love is important. It’s been a difficult year to get together with friends and tell them just how much they’re appreciated, so they are offering this stress-free dream job — because who wouldn’t want to get paid for (virtually) hanging out with their friends?

How: The winner will complete the job from the comfort of their own home, in their PJs, or all decked out — who cares?

The Must-Dos: The winner will have to watch three (3) movies with their best friends, and then complete a task sheet.

The Optional Dos: Decorate, get matching jammies, hang some balloons — this is your party and the options are endless. If you’re lazy and plan on turning off the lights so your friends don’t see the mess around you, that’s cool, too!

The Perks:  US Dish will dish out $2,000 to the winner of the Dream Job, and they’ll also pay for all streaming access, and a video conferencing tool. You’ll also receive a Swag Bag (worth over $200) full of heart-shaped candies, snacks, a warm blanket, empowerment books, and more. But wait, there’s more: the host and their friends will be provided with a delivery dining credit as well! Mangia!

Interested candidates can easily apply online at This Link! Applications are open now through February 26th, 12:00 Noon Mountain Time! Good Luck!

Eye On Design: Zebra Punk Party Dress By Anna Sui

To create the look of the Zebra Punk Party Dress (which was part of her Spring 2007 Punk collection), Anna Sui combined ripped mesh leggings and armlets, references to Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren’s punk fashions of the mid-to-late 1970s. The monochrome zebra print recalls the strict dress color code of the New York clubs that Sui frequented in her youth, such as Max’s Kansas City and CBGB.

If you enjoy drinking and are about to celebrate your final days as a Bachelorette, turning 70, or being the World’s Best Mom, maybe your party needs a few of these Bright Pink Party Goblets that I spotted in a bargain store in the Financial District (no, that is not an oxymoron). I think these are selling for $3.99 each.
