Lunch Atop a Skyscraper is a life-size recreation by NY-based Sculptor Sergio Furnari of the famous photo by taken by Charles C. Ebbets in 1932. The original photo shows a group of 11 construction workers eating lunch on a crossbeam during the construction of the RCA Building (renamed the GE Building in 1988) at Rockefeller Center in NYC. The sculpture was completed in 2001 and spent five months (from May to October, 2002) on display at Ground Zero before going on tour. It moves around quite a bit, apparently, but currently the statue can be seen on the corner of 45th Street and Broadway in Manhattan.
Identical twin artists How & Nosm are among ten artists commissioned in cities around the world to create original artwork for DKNY ARTWORKS. Each original work captures an artistic expression of the NYC skyline within the frame of a DKNY logo. The participating artists were asked to interpret New York City as they envision it and were selected based on their connection with the city in which their artwork will be featured. The billboard by How & Nosm, titled I JUST CALLED TO SAY can be found at the intersection of 7th Avenue and 48th Street in Times Square, NYC. Photographed by Gail in the Hello Kitty Sanrio Store, Times Square NYC
If I still drove, I would really want to have a pink car. And if this steering wheel cover was just a pink leopard print and did not have Hello Kitty on it, I would want that also.
I don’t even know what to say about this Hello Kitty / Tomato-hybrid plush toy spotted in the Hello Kitty Sanrio store, on 42nd Street, in Times Square. If there was a Hello Banana, I would want to own it.
