These twelve issues will all center around a single night that will go down in Marvel Comics history and while it’s too early to reveal the world-shattering steps mutantkind is about to take, one thing is for certain: the X-Men have never looked better!
The Covid life has familiarized many of us not only with the concept of Working From Home, but also Working Out From Home. Personally, I am doing two or three Zoom workouts each week, which helps to fill up the time I used to spend leaving the house to socialize with other humans. Another thing we can claim a heightened familiarity with (compared to one year ago): Wipes. Did you ever imagine that you would spend such a large percentage of your waking hours wiping things? I sure didn’t. And yet here we are; all about the wipes.
In 1911, while staying at Spurveskjul, his rented home near Copenhagen, Vilhelm Hammershoi undertook a group of self-portraits that encapsulate his reputation as a painter of tranquil, light-filled interiors. This composition (1911) shows the artist at work, with his left hand raised, as if reflected in a mirror. The sunlit door and window behind him are two of his signature motifs. Left unfinished, the painting was kept by the artist’s wife, Ida, and then her descendants, until 2014. A closely related painting is in the Statens Museum for Kunst (Art), Copenhagen.

Aside from the bright contrast of colors between the Pink Balloon and Red Standpipe Connection, what stood out for me as I came upon this scene was how snuggly the balloon was wedged between the standpipe and the building’s black exhaust grate. Someone wanted to ensure that the balloon didn’t blow away. I’m glad for that, because otherwise I would have missed it on my hunt for Pink Things.
