Must See Art: Sas & Colin Christian at The Opera Gallery

Artist Sas Christian in Front of NYC’s Opera Gallery

A very wet and stormy night in NYC was transformed into a completely sublime evening by the gala opening of new works by husband and wife artist team Sas and Colin Christian, which is currently on display at the Opera Gallery in Soho. Sas and Colin – who are both painters and sculptors – find inspiration in old sci-fi movies, pinup girl/ supermodels, anime, ambient electronic music and H.P. Lovecraft. HR Giger Alien Coffee Table

There is little doubt that you would be the only person in your neighborhood to own one of these glass-topped tables, with a model of HR Giger’s Alien creature serving as its base, but having one in your home still looks like a dangerous proposition to me. More information on the table, along with pictures and pricing (the scariest part) are available at This Link.

Pink Thing of The Day: Pink Artsy Table

Want

Wow, I love this thing! This artistically cool table by designer Yuka Izutsu is made up of fluorescent pink acrylic in a faux woodgrain pattern with various small orb-shaped adornments. It’s almost more of a sculpture /piece of art than functional furniture, but it sure would make a bold statement as an addition to any interior. More pictures can be seen at This Link.

Skull & Bones Chair

Skull and Bones Chair

I’m not sure if you can, or would even want to, actually sit on it, but I sure do love the visual aesthetics of this spooky chair by Artist Keith Tyson, which is a part of his 2007 show Large Field Array.
