Used as a prop outside Barbie’s home in the 2023 blockbuster, the mailbox is less about bills and more about vibes —cheerful, surreal, and joyfully practical. While strolling down Clinton Street on the Lower East Side recently, I passed a neighborhood bakery that I affectionately refer to as the “ghetto bakery” — mostly because the cakes in the window rarely look like anything you’d actually want to eat. If you’re looking for a holiday visual that practically shouts “Step Into the Vortex,” look no further than this groovy pink window display I spotted at The Grove in Hollywood. Viewed from the street, the storefront is covered in a bold, radiating swirl of hot-pink stripes that create the illusion of being pulled into a fabulous, candy-colored wormhole.

While browsing the ultra-chic Tribeca boutique A Little Pink, my eye went straight to this towering display of candy-floss–colored feathers exploding from a sculptural glass vase. Part décor object, part couture fantasy, it floats in the space like a glamorous pink cloud.
