Personally, I couldn’t give a crap about the Super Bowl. This evening I’ll be watching some Netflix, then Big Love and Flight of the Conchords in a blissfully Football-free wonderland. And I already had a big lunch at Gonzalez Y Gonzalez (hey, $5 Margaritas at the bar!) so I won’t be eating again tonight. My Birthday is coming up two weeks from this Sunday and one of the things I always like to receive for my Birthday is a cake. Because Birthday cakes are awesome. As good fortune would have it, the Omnomicon food blog has posted the raddest possible recipe for a Rainbow Cake that I simply must receive! So please, friends of Gail, somebody please make my dearest Birthday wish come true, and bake this cake for me!

It’s hard to believe that Halloween is coming up in just over a month. Scary! Maybe you are already on the lookout for delicious and festively-themed foods to stock your Halloween party buffet. For the adventurous culinary artists out here, I suggest trying this unique take on the classic Caprese Salad with a side of olive eyeballs! To me, it looks like a little owl, and would probably be a fun recipe to make with your kids. I’m hungry already!
