Balloon Saloon Exterior
All Photos By Gail

We passed by the Balloon Saloon — the store dominates the northeast corner of West Broadway and Duane Streets in Tribeca — on the way to dine at The Odeon Bistro, and just had to stop and take a few photos. Balloon Saloon, which sells all kinds of inflatables, and also delivers every configuration of balloon clusters that you can imagine, was evidently voted The Most Fun Store in NYC; and you don’t even have to enter the store to see why. Because look at all of these Balloon-type Things that they have right out front!

Pink Thing of The Day: Chris Ahalt’s Blown Glass Balloon Animals

Glass Hippos and Elephant
All Photos By Gail

While I was at this year’s Architectural Digest Design Show, I saw and fell in love with so many cool and beautiful things, but never really had the time to distill the day’s many photos into a proper wrap up of the event as a whole. Fortunately, it’s never too late to find a way to feature some of a my favorite photos from the show; in this case, several items I saw in the booth hosted by Chesterfield Gallery, who specialize in fine glass art.

Pink Shiny Hippo
Hangry

Hangry is a hand-blown glass hippopotamus affixed to a copper wire with a steel base, and it’s part of American glass artist Chris Ahalt’s balloon animal series.

Pink Glass Elephant

There is a cool Pink Elephant also.

Light Pink Hippo

And another Pink Hippo, who seems less “hangry.”

Chesterfield Glass Art is Based in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Top Ten Photos of Pumpkin Things That I Took in The Berkshires

Fat Pumpkin
All Photos By Gail

Over the Columbus Day weekend, I went up to the Berkshire Mountains area of Massachusetts and spent a few glorious days enjoying the gorgeous natural surroundings and taking assloads of photos of the just-starting-to-turn fall leaves. Gorgeous! And since we are just getting into fall, and also close to Halloween, I not only saw a lot of Pumpkins but also stuff decorated like Jack O Lanterns. For the purpose of this post, a Pumpkin and Jack O Lantern will be considered the same thing. Please enjoy my photos!

Back of Fat Pumpkin

This is the backside of the really humongous pumpkin you see in the first photo. I saw this amazing colossal pumpkin at the Harvest Festival in the town where we were staying. I think you were supposed to guess its weight, but seriously, I think it weighed a ton. That’s about as specific as I could get.

Jack O Lantern Planters

These cheerful Jack O Lantern Planters were spotted out front of the Big Y Supermarket.

Jack O Lantern Balloons

Jack O Lantern Balloons, how cheerful!

Pumpkin Candle Holder

This is a candle holder that would look amazing in the dark with a burning tea light inside! Spooky!

Two Pumpkins

Two Witch Pumpkins!

Pumpkins on Sticks

These are sort of Jack O Lantern/Pumpkin/Witches on Sticks! Because, Halloween!

Bunch Of Painted Pumkins

Painted Pumpkins and their unpainted companions! Also, gourds!

Jack O Lantern Lamp

This Jack O Lantern Lamp is just fantastic. Want!

Happy Fall and Happy Halloween Everybody!
