Pink Thing of The Day: Pink Ghost Installation

In June of 2009, Périphériques Architectes of Paris, France participated in the second edition of the Contemporary Art Exposition Saint-Germain-des-Près with an installation on Place Furstemberg. The Pink Ghost installation was a sculptural transformation of the center of the square with a preservation stance. Made of pink epoxy, the installation enveloped four trees and a streetlight to a height of 2.5 meters, and covered the entire surface of the small central square.

GuitarTown Sunset Strip Art Project Adds New Street Art Guitar!

The Sunset Strip and Gibson Guitar have announced the addition of a new guitar to GuitarTown on The Sunset Strip, a public art project launched in August 2010 featuring more than twenty-five 10-foot tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul model guitars strategically placed on the legendary Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. Well-known Los Angeles street artists have collaborated for this one-of-a-kind piece. Chicago Unveils Giant Eyeball Sculpture!

Few will argue that the city of Chicago is a fantastic place to go for a vacation. The food is amazing, there are a million places to go and things to do, and even if the weather is crap – as it was on my recent Chicago vacation – there’s tons of stuff to do indoors. But if you are lucky enough to get the good weather, then you can spend a lot of time outdoors because Chicago has breathtaking architecture and outrageous, randomly scattered, publicly displayed works of art. The latest contribution to Chicago’s city scape is called EYE, a three-story tall eyeball sculpture conceived and created by local Chicago artist Tony Tasset, which was installed earlier this week in Chicago’s Pritzker Park.
