OK, so it’s not really called Satan Burger, but wouldn’t it be cool if it was? Bad Burger can be found at 171 Avenue A between 10th and 11th Streets, in the East Village. Their burgers are actually very tasty, and their guacamole is excellent.

Pink Thing of The Day: Pink Elephant Statue on Flatbed Truck

Pink Elephant

While I’m not crazy about the fact that this post is basically an advertisement for whatever store is now located at the above Madison Avenue address, I could not resist snapping a photo of this awesome Pink Elephant Statue as I passed the shops along Antique Row on South Broadway late one Saturday evening. If you look closely, you’ll also see what looks like a stone or cement Alligator sculpture, which would be fun to own. It just goes to show you that you should always have your camera at the ready when you go out for a stroll in NYC.

Update: I saw this same statue — or one identical to it —  on September 11th, 2016 in front of this antiques store on Bowery just above Houston.

The title of the work (inscribed at the base), was inspired by a fever dream the young Max Ernst experienced while in bed with measles.

Video Clip of The Week: My Drunken Haze, “Carol Wait”

Man, does this aural morsel of ’60s psychedelia spiked with a garage rock edge, courtesy of Athens, Greece-based Rock quintet My Drunken Haze, ever bring back some seriously fuzzy memories! This is the kind of music that never gets old for me despite its deep nostalgic pull. The video for “Carol Wait” follows a young girl’s “adventurous” evening spent at a house party that features “vintage aesthetics, sexual liberation, hallucinations, destruction and self-destruction.” You might know it as a night that you can’t quite remember, but will never forget. Face it; we’ve all hand them.
