Robert Jackson’s Tinkering with Reality is a disarmingly fun exhibit of contemporary pop-realist paintings whose everyday subject matter lends them an element of the absurd. Junk Food Underpants
Recently, Anne and I went to this Beauty Event Thing, which we (wrongly) assumed was some kind of Cosmetics Product Tradeshow, but which turned out to be a convention center full of little girls standing in long lines to buy makeup. Plus, lots of Tweeting. It was basically ridiculous. Two grown women with real lives had absolutely no business being there except as a means to score free product to write about on our blogs, which was much easier said than done.
June 7th is National Donut Day! Woo!
The first Friday in June every year is celebrated in the United States as National Donut Day! This is a true thing. Today only you can get a free donut at all Dunkin Donuts (where you need to buy a beverage to get your Donut) and Krispy Kreme Donut Shops. Go! Go while you can! Get a free Donut!
Kenny Scharf Donut Mobile
Geoffrey and I went to the opening reception for Kenny Scharf’s Kolors exhibit at Paul Kasmin Gallery on 27th Street. Out front of the gallery this customized golf cart (kart) was parked. We called it the Donut Mobile.
