It was at the recent Coffee Fest New York that I spotted this fabulous Mosaic Mirrored Mushroom, in a soothing shade of  Pink, which was part of the booth display for Renude brand coffee beverages.  With a slogan like “Live Long, Die Pretty!” perhaps you will want to know more about them by clicking on that hyperlink in the previous sentence!

It must have been some kind of cosmic coincidence that, while walking to the train after attending a late night Birthday party for Randy Jones, best known as The Cowboy from ’70s Disco legends The Village People, I passed right by the iconic NYC department store, Bergdorf Goodman, and got a face full of this mind-blowing, disco ball extravaganza window display. Video Clip of The Week: Randy Jones, “Hard Times” ( Studio 54 Mix)

As the past is reinvented to serve present needs, ’70s guitar Rock meets Disco’s irresistible call to shake your booty in this week’s Video Clip: “Hard Times” from Randy Jones — best known as the Cowboy from the legendary Village People. With a beat borrowed from Bruno Mars‘ global hit, “Uptown Funk,” this track about beating the blues is lyrically uplifting at a time when we could all use a little encouragement, and harnessed by a rhythm that is virally contagious. Directed by Mikhail Torich, the accompanying visuals are heavy on the glam, delivering sassy back up singers, buff disco boys, mirror balls and everything you need for an immersive club experience. No parking on the dance floor.

The title track from Randy’s brand new album, “Hard Times” is presented here in its super-groovy Studio 54 Mix (courtesy of Mark Saunders). Hard Times is available wherever fine music is procured. Enjoy!

Geoffrey and I went all the way down town on a mission to investigate the Museum of Feelings, which turned out to be a bust, because the line was (realistic estimate) 90 minutes to 2 hours long. And we are about waiting in lines no. So, while we were down there (because Battery Park City is a fucking haul from our respective residences), we decided to just see what kinds of cool snaps we could take. Because Geoffrey is obsessed with the Instagram, and I know that I can always score a few blog hits with a fun photo.
