​The Conq Sofa (2023) by Parisian design studio RoWin’Atelier —  founded by architects Frédéric Rochette and Hervé Winkler — is a standout piece in contemporary collectible design. This sculptural sofa was showcased by Twenty First Gallery at the Salon Art + Design fair in New York in November 2024, where it served as a centerpiece of their booth.​

Spanish Designer Patricia Urquiola’s Tropicalia Chair, created in 2008 for Moroso, is a stunning exploration of color, material, and form. As part of the Tropicalia collection, this chair exemplifies Urquiola’s talent for transforming everyday objects into sculptural statements.

At first glance, the geometric steel frame — a minimalist tubular structure — recalls a traditional lounge chair. However, it’s the woven polymer threads, arranged in intricate patterns, that bring the chair to life.

Eye On Design: Joe Colombo’s Tube Chair of Nesting and Combinable Elements

Cesare Colombo (19301971), known as Joe Colombo, was an Italian industrial designer. Colombo’s Tube Chair (1969–70) is an iconic piece of modular furniture that embodies his futuristic and flexible design philosophy. Manufactured by Flexform, the chair consists of four cylindrical cushions of varying diameters, which can be rearranged to create different seating configurations.

There are always many ‘Oh, Wow’ moments at the annual Salon Art + Design fair and the Duchess armchair, crafted in 2022 by Swiss designer Mattia Bonetti, certainly ranks among them. This gorgeous chair exemplifies Bonetti’s distinctive fusion of traditional and contemporary design elements. Pink Thing of The Day: Pink Hand Chair

The iconic Hand Chair was designed by Pedro Friedeberg, a Mexican surrealist artist and designer. This whimsical chair, where the palm forms the seat and the fingers act as the backrest, became a symbol of the 1960s and 1970s era of playful and avant-garde design. We were extra lucky that these chairs just happened to be a very hot shade of Pink!
