I passed by this mural, by UK-based street artist Sweet Toof, while walking up Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn on the way to the Great Big Bacon Picnic. I have no idea how long it’s been up, but the building is near the corner of Whipple Street.

Video Clip of the Week: Eagulls, “Tough Luck”
Hello and welcome to the first entry in a full year of Worleygig.com’s Video Clip of the Week. It’s good to be back! This week we have a hard-to-top clip from Leeds UK-based Eagulls for the amazing song, “Tough Luck” — which I am am already in love with. Video Clip of the Week: “Shelley” by Kid Wave
The seductive sound of UK-based quartet Kid Wave was described to me as “Johnny Marr hangin’ with The Beach Boys,” which was enough to pique my interest. But it’s lead singer Lea Emmery’s channeling of PJ Harvey and the minor chord melody entwined with Mattias Bhatt’s opiated guitar work that really hits this tune out of the ballpark. The plaintive refrain, “Let’s Go Surifn,” makes “Shelley” the perfect song for the bittersweet end of summer. Recommended if you like The Jesus and Mary Chain, Mazzy Star or The Sundays. Enjoy!

Pink Thing of The Day: Pink Orbs at O2 Arena
There is really nothing like other people’s FaceBook pages for providing awesome things to put on this blog. The above photo was taken by my friend Melinda inside a bar at the O2 Arena in London, UK after she attended a basketball event during the recent 2012 summer Olympics. Melinda confirms that this eye-popping sculpture of hanging globes in varying pink hues is purely decorative and not an actual light fixture. It sure does remind me of this thing here. Want.
