Before ascending to the heavens, this Glass of Whiskey (1949) toured the world. In the pages of Life and Newsweek magazines, it could be seen surmounting arctic slopes, and traveling by train. It sweated deckside on a luxury liner, rode a Ferris wheel, and went sledding. Meticulously staged by the pioneering color photographer Anton Breuhl (1900 – 1982), such absurd tableaux conjured worldly associations for his client, the mid-tier Kentucky distiller Four Roses. Each day brought a new adventure of museums, galleries, cultural sites, scenic walks, shopping, eating and, of course, people watching. And just about everywhere we went, there were beautiful gardens giving me a reason to pull out my iPhone and immortalize its unique beauty. Pink Thing of the Day: Pink Rose Made From Ceramic Plates
David Bielander is an award-winning jewelry designer who translates simple, everyday objects into exceptional pieces of art. Here, he has transformed a set of baby pink ceramic plates and bowls into the petals of a stunning Pink Rose Sculpture, which I spotted at the 2021 Salon Art + Design!

The winter blues, as people like to call it, is a scientifically-recognized state of mind that can affect anyone. Now, depending on your brain chemistry and other illnesses, you may be having a more difficult time, but in most cases, this is a temporary phase that passes with the season.
